Project interpreter/translator

Ironically, it was the onset of the Asian Financial Crisis in 1997 that triggered the explosive growth of project interpretation/translation in Korea. To salvage the beleaguered economy, the government undertook bold deregulations in an effort to attract foreign direct investment (FDI), and foreign businesses ventured into Korea en masse. Amid the collapses of Korean domestic companies in succession, M&A-related businesses thrived: law firms, accounting/financial firms, consulting firms, and interpretation/translation services as well. The interpretation/translation market rapidly grew after the Asian currency crisis, and the total size of the market remains large today. Snowballing FDI, ever-greater market opening, and surging M&As and strategic partnerships between Korean and foreign businesses demanded quality interpretation/translation services. Short- and long-term projects, such as due diligence of M&A targets, were initiated; many joint venture companies opened interpretation/translation departments; and interpreters were hired for foreign executives. Graduates from interpretation/translation schools filled the rising demand. WINWIN boasts the largest pool of graduates, as well as faculty members, from the nation’s top related institution, the Graduate School of Interpretation and Translation of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, along with those of other universities, and is continuously expanding its project interpretation/translation services. WINWIN provides contract-based short- and long-term project interpreters/translators with many years of experience in finance, IT, electronics, multinational corporations, domestic companies, government agencies, consulting firms, etc., satisfying the specific needs of customers.
